Twenty-four years I have dedicated my career to the classroom - to teaching writing and speaking, research and reading, college readiness and career skills. From AP Literature and Composition to AVID, those 24 years have given me experience not just with over a dozen different middle and high school curricula, but also thousands of different students - all with different ways of learning, different ways of connecting to school. It is this diverse experience that allows me to help students better grasp their academic tasks while setting up systems for personal success in organization and mindset.

Academic coaching is more than just tutoring - think of it as a sports coach, for learning. As an English teacher, I help students understand and master all skills in that arena - from essays to novel analysis, SAT/ACT prep to public speaking. As an AVID teacher, I helped students with organizational practices, setting up systems for note taking, calendaring deadlines, setting goals, and navigating the college application process. As an academic coach, I combine it all to help students set themselves up with systems for success.
